On 1st October 2006, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 was implemented - affecting all non-domestic premises across England and Wales. It covers general 'fire precautions' and other fire safety duties which are needed to protect 'relevant persons' in the case of fire in and around most 'premises'.
Passive fire prevention products are integral to satisfying the RR(FS)O regulations; and play a vital role in preventing the passage of cold smoke, as well as fire and hot smoke throughout the building - ultimately reducing risk to those in other compartments.
Lorient has produced a guidance leaflet that provides an overview of the RR(FS)O; and presents common sense solutions for acoustic, smoke and fire containment for door assemblies.
